Joy James

Joy has been part of Novo since the start of 2011 & is based in East London. 

Having completed a BA Hons in Fine Art and a Masters in Events Management, she worked in the Events Sector 

and then for the international Christian relief and development agency, Tearfund. 

She is passionate about accompanying local women through the highs & lows of life & supporting them in their journey of creativity, faith (and motherhood). In her artwork, she weaves together creativity, prayer & prophecy (see Stories).

She’s captivated by natural beauty & textures & her favourite artist is Francesca Woodman.

She’s married to David & they have two energetic children, Liberty (7) & Noah (10).

What is it that you do creatively that has brought you to the team?

Joy is primarily a visual artist, working with coloured ink, brushes, paper. 

She dabbles in photography and poetry and loves to sing.
