I was a 5 year old when I gave my whole heart to Jesus.
It’s been a lifelong love for people, creativity, and the church around the world.
With my husband Jim, and sons Tyler and Cameron, I spent 17 years in Asia as a missionary. That was after 12 years in a large local church in Los Angeles. I partnered with Jim in his role of pastor of global missions & local outreach. With a group of actors, I and the church built like a theater, we had a lot of fun exploring ways to use drama in ministry - both in and outside the church.
In 1997 we moved to China to learn Mandarin & Chinese culture. While there, I taught English on TV. My favorite ministry project in the China was helping the IMB develop Radio Drama training for CPM/DMM among Chinese Minority Groups. A series of recorded Dramas that were used to introduce each stage of a gospel movement based on Paul and Silas’ adventures in Acts. The drama was contextualized/translated for 20th century Chinese Minority village farmers.
Time in China was to prepare for serving churches in Singapore who wanted to use the creative arts in ministry. Commercial singing and professional theatre roles gave me credibility in the Arts Community there.
Artists have always been my primary tribe for ministry relationships.
I have been based in the USA for ten years now. I do so miss Singapore! We moved to Chattanooga in 2018 and began learning the culture of the South Eastern USA. The Lord has given much favor to us in finding the Christians of influence and understanding the needs in our city. Jim is retired from Novo now, but together, he and I now encourage and serve Christian non-profit leaders, and support and develop leaders in our church.
